6 judges of Islamabad High Court received threatening letters
In fact, six judges of Islamabad High Court claimed on Tuesday that they had received threatening letters and narcotics were also sent in these letters. These judges wrote to CJP. What did the federal government say about the one-man commission?
During the hearing, Attorney General Mansoor Awan said that the government has constituted a commission to investigate the matter honestly. But social media and lawyers criticized the commission. He wanted the court to hear the matter. CJP Isa said he is committed to maintaining the independence of the judiciary. He said that judges should ensure that they are not in danger.
This kind of pressure will not be tolerated: CJP
“If there is any attack on the independence of the judiciary, I will be at the forefront to protect the judiciary and certainly my fellow judges will stand with me in this and we will never tolerate interference,” the CJP said. He further said that if anyone has an agenda to do so, he can become the President or Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Bar Association and impose his will. We will not tolerate this kind of pressure. The hearing has been adjourned till April 29. He said, “It is possible that we may constitute a full court in the next hearing. We will hear the case every day.”
