The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a Temporary Final Rule (TFR). It expands immigrants’ eligibility for work permits. Under this, the automatic 180-day period for certain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) has been extended to 540 days. This means that the period of investment in America will increase, which will definitely benefit Indians the most.
As a result of this action, EAD processing times have reduced significantly over the past 12 months. The temporary measures, announced late Thursday, will prevent already work-authorized noncitizens from delaying their employment authorization and documentation while they await a decision on their pending EAD renewal applications. It will also streamline continuity of operations for US employers.
