Another Indian student dies in America, was missing for three weeks!

The series of deaths of Indian students continues in America. A 25-year-old Indian student, missing since last month, has been found dead in the American city of Cleveland. This is the second case of death of an Indian student in a week. Mohammad Abdul Arafat, a resident of Nachram, Hyderabad, came to America in May last year to pursue a master’s degree in IT from Cleveland University.

Indian Embassy is helping

“It is saddened to learn that the body of Mohammed Abdul Arafat, for whom a search operation was underway, has been found in Cleveland, Ohio,” the Indian Embassy in New York said in a post on ‘X’. Local agencies are in touch to ensure a thorough investigation into the student’s death. “We are providing all possible assistance to the bereaved family to take his body to India,” the Consulate said.

Arafat’s father Mohammed Salim said that Arafat last spoke to him on March 7 and has not been in contact with his family since. His mobile phone was also switched off. Arafat’s roommate in the US informed his father that he had filed a missing person’s complaint with the Cleveland Police.

the family got a call

Meanwhile, on March 19, Arafat’s family received a call from an unknown person who claimed that Arafat had allegedly been kidnapped by a drug gang, and demanded a ransom for his release. His father told that the caller threatened to sell Arafat’s kidney if he did not pay the extortion money. Unfortunately, the student who had gone from Hyderabad to study with Arman died untimely.
