Indian-origin Simon Harris becomes Ireland’s youngest PM

After the resignation of Leo Varadkar in Ireland, the ruling Fine Gael party has made Indian-origin Simon Harris the Prime Minister. At the age of 37, Harris has become the country’s youngest Prime Minister. His predecessor, Indian-born Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, was Ireland’s youngest Prime Minister. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Simon Harris.
Leo Varadkar resigned from his post in Ireland last month. After her resignation, there was talk that Harris could become PM. The Parliament of Ireland voted for the Prime Minister on Tuesday. In which 88 votes were cast in support of Harris. He received support from coalition partners Fianna Fáil and the Green Party, as well as several independent MPs.
